Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. On July 11, 2021, Victoria (Vickie) E. Wood, 77, of Essington, rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings.
She was born to the late John and Edith Fretz (Pearsall) in Chester, Pa. Vickie graduated from Interboro High School in 1961.
Vickie is survived by her honee, Francis Ward; her daughters, Sherry (Frank) Fernandez of Helena, Alabama and Frankie Ward of Thornton, Pa.; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Wood (Fran) of Collingdale, Pa. and her eight grandchildren. Vickie was predeceased by her son, Francis Wood, and her sister, Judy Fretz in 2014.
Vickie worked for Dr. Bruce Eppler, DC for many years and going to Dons on Fridays was the talk of the office. She was most recently a crossing guard for the Interboro School District in Essington.
She loved children and was known for waving to passers by. She loved her cat, Emily, and donated to local shelters and charities. Vickie was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
