Richard (Rich) Bernasz, husband of over 43 years to his loving wife Joyce, passed away late on December 21, 2021, following an extended illness and hospital stays.
Rich grew up in Folcroft, Pennsylvania. Following graduation, he worked as a welder for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Lester and then for the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Rich then retired after several years of employment as a Verizon lineman. He enjoyed his retirement with his wife Joyce at their home they had shared for over 37 years.
Each 5th anniversary since their marriage, Rich and Joyce made a commitment to each other to travel to a desired destination and celebrated their many milestones together. They also loved their vacations between those 5th anniversaries, even when it rained. What mattered was that they were enjoying time with each other.
In addition to his wife Joyce, Rich is survived by his brother Joseph (Sandy) and sister Wanda (Jay), nieces Jessica (Orest), Katie (Matt), Kelly (Reagan), niece and god-child Kristen (Dan), along with two grandnieces Olivia and Alexsa and a grandnephew Luka. Rich was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Claudine Bernasz.
Rich’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on June 4, 2022, at Incarnation Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church, 3000 Garrett Road, Drexel Hill, Pa 19026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am when attendees will be welcomed as they are greeted by family members on the day of the memorial service. Following the service, there will be a private burial at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Linwood, Pennsylvania.
