Norma Jean Patton (née Billig), 66, of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on the afternoon of Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Norma was born on April 9, 1957 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. She was one of six children and the daughter of Emily and Forrest Billig. Growing up in Norwood, PA, she enjoyed spending time in the company of her family, including summer visits to her Aunt Louise’s historic home in Audubon, PA. She graduated from Interboro High School and would go on to raise three children: Julia, John, and Josh, in Media, PA. At every step, she profoundly touched the lives of her family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and every community she was a part of.
Norma dedicated her life to bringing joy to others and did so in the best and toughest of times. Her strength and courage had no limits. She was thoughtful, compassionate, and kind; always looking toward the bright side and bringing a smile, joke, or even a bit of song when needed. She loved curling up on the couch with her dog Henry to watch her favorite Star Trek and Frasier episodes and dancing around the house listening to Journey or the Moody Blues. She was full of creative and artistic energy that she expressed through various home projects and drawing.
Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year. She went all out to fill her house with cheer, warmth, and love; decorating the house and tree while listening to her favorite christmas album. During other times of the year she loved treasure hunting at garage sales and was always on the lookout for that certain gem to bring home.
She was deeply loved by everyone who knew her and will be forever missed.
Norma was predeceased by her mother, Emily Billig; husband, John Patton; brother Craig Billig; sister Viki Johnson; and nephew Garrett Fleming. She is survived by her children: Julia, John, and Josh Patton.
