Michael G. McGlade, 45, of Prospect Park, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2021 in Ridley Park, Pa.
Michael was born in Philadelphia on September 15, 1975 to the late John J. McGlade and Marie (nee Bretschneider) McGlade.
He attended Academy Park High School and graduated from the CHI Institute in 2001. He was a long-time employee at A Duie Pyle, West Chester, Pa., where he was the Manager of IT Infrastructure and Operations.
Michael was raised in the Briarcliffe section of Glenolden, Pa. He was the youngest of four children and enjoyed playing Little League baseball for the Briarcliffe Father and Sons Association. He spent many weekends and vacations camping with his family and enjoying the outdoors. His favorite vacation was to Walt Disney World where he rode “It’s a Small World” at least a hundred times. We still have the soundtrack running through our minds. He was funny and inquisitive and was always taking things apart just to try to put them back together. He was very interested in how the world around him worked. Always full of questions, he was wickedly smart and had such a dry sense of humor. He had a deep sense of commitment to his family, not just his immediate family, but to friends whom he considered family.
He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He enjoyed his nightly walks with his young daughters and spent his weekends with his family engaging in many activities such as bowling, Daddy/Daughter dates to Red Robin, Zoo and Aquarium trips, and countless late night history lessons with his daughters.
Beyond his unwavering love for his wife and daughters, Michael enjoyed many other interests, including but not limited to, the Autism Awareness Walk, cornhole competitions, and watching Rick and Morty where he won a competition to appear on the show. He loved scary movies and was a great gadget guy who loved country music and heavy metal. He really loved baking, especially his specialty Cinnamon Pie, our family gathering favorite. He was and will always be our “Mr. Incredible.”
Michael was predeceased by his father John J. McGlade of West Chester, Pa. He is survived by the love of his life, Casey, of nearly 17 years; three daughters: Erica, Rachel, and Lauren and fur baby, Coco, all at home; his mother, Marie (nee Bretschneider) McGlade of West Grove, Pa.; sisters Maureen Dalrymple of Lancaster, Pa., and Kathleen Reger (Michael) of West Grove, Pa.; and brother John (Andrea) of Windsor, Pa.
Also survived by his in-laws Robert (Reds) and Dawn Livingston of Crum Lynne, Pa., and Jonathan and Jessica Boyer of Prospect Park, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, May 8, 2021, from 9:30 AM to 11 AM followed by a service at 11 AM at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.
