Leonard D. Ogden

December 11, 2023 – February 3, 1935


Leonard D. Ogden passed away late Monday night on December 11, 2023 at the age of 88 years old. Leonard’s day was filled with family surrounded by his bedside at his home. Leonard was born on February 3, 1935 to his loving parents Margaret Ogden (Flynn) and Stacy Ogden. Len was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia along with his two brothers and six sisters, Etta Garr (deceased) Joan Ogden (deceased) Buddy Ogden (deceased) Patsy Toole (deceased) Irene Luchko (deceased) Caroline Pellegrino (deceased) Margie Laurie (deceased) Billy Ogden (deceased). Leonard later got married to the late Veronica Ogden and had six beautiful children. Leonard was a family man and worked very hard at Mattera’s Bakery for over 60 years to provide for his family and to serve his community. Len loved his job as a baker, he took pride in what he did for a living. Leonard was a man of honor, kindness and had such a gentle soul. He loved his family so much and Len saw the good in everyone he met. Leonard you will be truly missed.
Survived by his children, Bernadette Ogden, Margaret Ogden (deceased) Lenny Ogden, Virginia Ogden, Joseph Ogden (deceased) Irene Ogden, Christopher Ogden, Beth Ogden. Survived Grandchildren, Pamela Niceschwander, Stephen Rauscher, Richard Niceschwander, Joseph Finnegan, Megan Finnegan, Nicole Finnegan (deceased) Danielle Finnegan, Jessica Borgia, Nick Borgia, Kayla Ogden, Ethan Ogden, Owen, Nate, Ari Mattera, Maddie Margera, Torey Margera. Survived Great Grand children, Jason Grace jr, Layla Grace, Lianna Bendezu, Mia Borgia, Pauly Murray, Bella Yanke and by many Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends. Please join us to celebrate Leonard’s beautiful life on Tuesday December the 19th, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 at Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, Norwood, Pa followed by Mass at 11:00 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, Secane followed by the burial at Saints Peter and Paul cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, Pa
