John P. “Jack” Malin, Jr., 66, of Crum Lynne, Pa. passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022.
He was born on October 20, 1955 in Philadelphia to John P. Malin, Sr. and Patricia Hammond Malin Gallagher. He graduated from John Bartram High School and went on to get different certificates for numerous things one of which was EKG Technician.
Jack was last employed at Rheem Supply-PN Distribution where he was the Warehouse Manager as well as a Delivery Driver.
He married Barbara Meehan on October 22, 1977. She passed away on January 13, 2003.
Jack was extremely passionate about all the Philadelphia Sports teams, especially his favorite, the Philadelphia Flyers. He was an amazing competitor; he learned and mastered Jiu Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and Boxing and Kick Boxing. He entered into a Kick Boxing Tournament in his 30’s where he finished in first place. He also was a participant in The Broad Street Run where he not only entered but completed as well. Jack coached his son’s baseball team “The Oilers” and taught his son and daughter every sport that there is so much that when his daughter was younger she was the only girl on all big teams. Jack was a great father and his kids couldn’t have dreamed of a better father! This all carried over to his five grandchildren and one great-grandson. Everything his grandchildren learned about sports is 100% because of their grandfather.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Malin Snyder (husband Marty) of Philadelphia; his son John Malin, III of Crum Lynne; his siblings, Karen Malin King (husband John King) of Moundsville, WV, Michael Malin of Upper Darby, and Sean Malin (wife Kathleen) of Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Brina, Marty, Lauren, and John “J.J.” Snyder and Brian Bertele; his great-grandson, Joshua Lodge; and his nieces and nephews along with many other family and friends.
There isn’t a day that will go by that we won’t miss our Dad!
