Obituary

John McCullough (62) went home to be with Jesus on January 18, 2023. A native born and lifelong resident of Delaware County, John was a devoted Christian and active member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Morton. John lived his faith through his kindness, strong work ethic, and passion for sharing the transformative work of Jesus Christ in his life. He loved Jesus and wished for others to know of the hope that they too could have in Jesus and would share his testimony and faith with anyone who would listen.

He was a loyal friend, exemplary employee, and above all a loving son, brother, and uncle. Always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed, John leaves an enormous void in his family whose only comfort is that he is now in the presence of his Savior and in the company of his father and mother, Walter and Claire McCullough. John loved his cat, spending time with family, fishing for Muskies, lifting weights, and eating a good pizza steak or hoagie. John was a gifted artist and in the words of his mother, Claire “had a wit that wouldn’t quit” and would always cause belly aching laughter with his talent for impersonations of family, co-workers, and Alfred Hitchcock. John’s favorite holiday was Christmas and going out to pick a real tree for himself or as a gift to others and putting up his Christmas lights brought him so much joy. He was also known for his sun-brewed sweet tea which he would frequently bring to family and church gatherings.

John is survived by his sister, Hope, and his brothers, Dale and Kevin, and 5 nieces and 2 nephews as well as 13 grand nieces and grand nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Independence Baptist Church, 716 Amosland Rd, Morton, PA 19070 on Friday, January 27, 2023 with visitation beginning at 10am and memorial service to follow at 11am followed by burial at Glenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s memory to Calvary Independence Baptist Church or the West Chester SPCA,1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380
