Jane E. Dotts

d. September 7, 2021

Jane E. Dotts, 87, of Prospect Park, a retired Atkinson’s Jewelers Sales Associate, died at home in her sleep of complications from a stroke, September 7, 2021, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Born in Philadelphia at Philadelphia Presbyterian Hospital and raised in Ridley Park, she lived in Prospect Park since 1960.

Mrs. Dotts was a senior sales associate for Atkinson’s Jewelers for more than 25 years, where she supported her community until her retirement.

She was a life member of Olivet Presbyterian Church in Prospect Park, where she served as a Deacon, Treasurer, Community Committee Member, and the Ladies Bible Circle Groups.  She was a volunteer for the American Red cross.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 7213 in Norwood.

She was a graduate of Ridley Park High School- Class of 1951.  She enjoyed dancing with her husband to Big band Music, the love of her cocker-spaniel Luke, traveling to Jamaica, Cape Cod, and Germany with family members, reading history and mystery novels, and watching her Phillies win.

Jane enjoyed her life; family was everything to her.  While Jane had many titles, Mom and Mom-Mom were her favorite.  She always shared pictures and stories of her family, and grandchildren.  She was a devoted wife of George for over 60 years, mother, and grandmother.

Jane’s spirit is carried on by her family.  She was the loving mother to Steven Dotts and his wife Eva of Prospect Park, Keith Dotts and his wife Meghan of Downingtown, proud Mom-Mom to four granddaughters; Jessica Dotts, Cortney Dotts, Nastassia Dotts (Tasha) and Cassandra Dotts (Cassie), and one grandson William Gorra.  She was a devoted sister to Elizabeth Barrett (Gorham), Alice Gorham, and sister-in-law Marlene Cahall.

She is predeceased by her husband George E. Dotts, parents Franklin M. Gorham and Edith Gorham, and brother Frank Gorham.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 2 P.M. at Ridley Park Presbyterian Church, 300 N. Swarthmore Avenue, in Ridley Park, Pa. 19078.

There will be a visitation on Friday from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the church.

Burial will be private at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Jane’s memory to Ridley Park Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 300 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, Pa. 19078 would be appreciated.
