Obituary

James E. Lonergan 67, of Prospect Park was called home to heaven March 25, 2022. Born a Southwest Philadelphia resident to his late parents James and Regina Lonergan. Jim was very devoted husband, father, brother, pop-pop and friend. He went to Bartram High School of Philadelphia shortly after served in the United States Marine Corps. As an adult Jim was self employed as a talented painter and loved his profession.

    Jim was a passionate diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. Never missing a game he would be at the sports club surrounded by friends or at home with family watching every game. In his free time Jim loved spending time with his wife Joanne to whom he was married for 41 years, by gardening and sitting in the backyard enjoying one another’s company. He lived for his family especially his grandbabies. He enjoyed working with his sons every spring to make his backyard a fun filled family getaway. Jim would love spending every summer barbecuing and just being with his grandkids. He lived for the happiness of his family.  He also loved spending time with his friends down the shore. His friends were family to him. Jim will be eternally missed and forever remembered.
    Jim is survived by his loving wife Joanne (Moless) Lonergan, daughter Deana (husband Drew) son Jimmy (wife Raquel) son Brian, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Grandchildren, Kateri, Damian, Tyler, Anthony, Kerian, James-Paul, Tristan, Juliet, Dallas; Great grandchildren, Braden, Levi.
  Funeral Services are going to be held at Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike in Norwood, PA 19074. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 11am to 12 noon, Memorial Service will be at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers contributions made in Jim’s memory to Griffith Funeral Chapel would be appreciated by his family.
