Gael H. Eyler, a lifelong resident of Ridley Park, 77 died on July 15, 2023. Born and raised in Ridley Park, Gael was the daughter of the late George M., and Rosalie W. Harrington (Walker). Gael was a stay-at-home mom to her children. Gael was believed by family members to be an undercover ninja because of her ability to wield a wooden spoon in the kitchen while simultaneously using it as a disciplinary device. Later in life Gael worked for Ridley School district as a bus aide and was an extraordinarily loving caretaker of her mother Rosalie. When she wasn’t caring for Rosalie, Gael spent as much time as possible with her long-time boyfriend Walt Ruber, frequenting Crystal Beach, MD and the Jersey shore where they enjoyed bird watching and nature walks until his passing in 2016.
Gael is survived by her brother George M. Harrington, Jr. who faithfully visited her in her later years. She is also survived by; her son, Michael and his wife, Kelli (McCormick), her daughter Lisa and her husband David Wenerd. She had 6 grandchildren, Bob, Katie and Sean Eyler as well as Meagan Lockwood (Wenerd), David Jr., and Hanna. She has 2 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing at Griffith Funeral Chapel in Norwood, PA. Visitation is Thursday, July 20 at 10:00 am with services to follow at 11:00 with a private burial at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Broomall, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Gael’s memory to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America | (alzfdn.org).
