Ethan Peter Joner, age 15, died suddenly on July 13, 2023. Ethan attended Delcroft School and was most recently a rising 10thgrade student at Academy Park High School. He was a lifelong swimmer, who spent every summer at the Folcroft Swim Club. As a young boy Ethan aspired to be a lifeguard and was so proud when he achieved his goal earlier this year. Ethan was passionate about baseball and played for the Collingdale Bulldogs, Academy Park Knights, and coached Folcroft teeball. When he wasn’t at the pool or at the baseball field, Ethan enjoyed the beach, fishing and playing video games.
Ethan was known for his wild hair, bright smile and fantastic sense of humor. He was quick with a joke, loved to pull pranks and had an infectious, unforgettable laugh. Ethan dreamt of being a hero and was able to fulfill that dream through the Gift of Life Donor Program where his donation will touch the lives of over 100 people.
Ethan is survived by his parents Peter and Leigh (Daly) Joner; his siblings Morgan, Cassidy and Brady Joner; his Far-Far and Mom-Mom Peter and Barbara Joner; his Marmie Cheryl Daly; his aunts and uncle Lauren Joner Elvanian, and Kristin and Steven Clay; cousins Nicky and Laila Elvanian, Harry and Remy Clay; and their extended families. He is preceded in death by his Pop-Pop Larry Daly.
A viewing will be held on Thursday July 20th from 5-8pm and Friday July 21st from 9-11am at Griffith Funeral Chapel in Norwood, PA. His Funeral Service will be on Friday July 21st at noon at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Norwood, PA.
Attendees are invited to wear their favorite team colors and jerseys to all services.
