Doris R. Hardy, “Dolly”, of Ridley Park, PA, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2022 at the age of 91. She was a loving, kind, generous soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born in Ridley Park, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Fritz. She grew up in Prospect Park, PA and graduated from Prospect Park High School in 1948. She married her loving husband, the late Robert K. Hardy, in 1951. The couple eventually moved to Ridley Park where Dolly lived until the time of her passing. She held a variety of jobs throughout her life, most recently as a sales rep for Pilot Air Freight. However, none brought her as much joy as being a wife and mother to her two children.
Dolly was a long-time member of the former First Baptist Church of Ridley Park. She was also active in planning events for the alumni of Prospect Park High School for many years. Dolly fiercely loved her family, and especially enjoyed the times they spent together in Rehoboth Beach, DE each summer. She was an avid Phillies fan, always making sure she knew what time and channel they were going to be on. Animal welfare was another cause that was near and dear to her heart.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolly was preceded in death by her son, Robert W. Hardy, and her sister, Carolyn Lalla.
Dolly is survived by her daughter, Deborah Cesarine (Tom), granddaughter Krista Cesarine, sister Ruthie Madison (Bill), as well as many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
A service will be held Friday, June 10th at 11AM at Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA 19074. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dolly’s name to either: Providence Animal Center, 555 Sandy Bank Rd, Media, PA 19063 OR Ridley Park Police Association, P.O. Box 464, Ridley Park, PA 19078.
