Christa Mary Bevilacqua-Teel

September 9, 1989 – January 20, 2024

Obituary

Christa Mary Bevilacqua-Teel, 34, of Glenolden, PA, passed on January 20th, 2024. She was born on September 9th, 1989, to Robert and Bernadette Bevilacqua and grew up in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania. She was a quadruplet and first born of four. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Teel, her sister, Bernadette, brothers, John (Anna), Robert (Laura), and cousin, Gabriella, who she viewed as a sister. Christa absolutely adored her little nephew, Leonardo. Family was the center of Christa’s life and she always found time to be with them. She was very close to her Uncle John (Janine Hanahan) and Uncle Greg (Bernie Bevilacqua). She held a special place in her heart of her Gram, Catherine Hayes, and shared a lot of time and memories with her in Williamstown, NJ, where she also met a lot of lifelong friends. Christa was a lover of the Lord, coffee, fishing, music, and animals, especially her dog, Buttercup. She loved spending weekends and summers at the Jersey Shore fishing and dining. Christa graduated from Interboro High School and was a first-generation college graduate from Delaware County Community College.

Christa married Richard Teel on May 8th, 2020, and moved into their first home in Glenolden, PA. She embodied the best of qualities; unconditional love, relentless spiritual strength, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for everyone that crossed her path. She had a natural skill in connecting with anyone she engaged with. Christa was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Madeline’s Church, where she volunteered as a lector and eucharistic minister.

The unexpected loss of Christa sent shockwaves through her entire family and resonated deeply with the countless individuals within her extensive community who held a profound love for her. The family deeply appreciates your support during this devastating time and asks that you make contributions to St. Madeline’s Church in Ridley Park, PA in lieu of flowers and contribute by sharing memories of our beloved Christa on the Griffith Funeral Chapel website.

O, God Who didst inflame, with Thy Spirit of Love, the soul of Thy Servant, Therese of the Child Jesus, grant that we also may love Thee and make Thee loved. May the soul of Christa Mary, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  Amen. Like the seed buried in the ground, you have produced the harvest of eternal life for us; make us always dead to sin and alive to God.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Thursday, February 1st, 9 AM – 11 AM at St. Madeline’s Church, 400 Morton Avenue, Ridley Park, PA 19078 followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Her interment will be private.

I will always remember the many good times we had for the 5 years that I had the chance to know her. One of them being, the many trips to Applebees for appetizers and drinks. May she Rest In Peace.

Sincere condolences to both the Teel and Bevilacqua families, for this tremendous loss. I never met Christa, but have seen many photos of her with Rich and the Teel family. And have heard many stories from Patty & Theresa about how lovely of a sister in law Christa was to them. A beautiful young woman. May she rest in perfect peace. God be with you all.

Rob, Bern, John and family words can’t express my sadness. I meet you all while camping at the shore. Christa was always the sweetest girl and willing and ready to give you a hug and make you smile. Her smile lit up a room she could make you feel better about your day with one of her hugs. You are all in my prayers.

As teachers at Prospect Park I remember the smiles and love of the “ Quad Squad” I personally taught Rob in first grade but the other kids came in after school to wait for Rob. They connected the three first grades together. Christa went to Norwood for a few years but reconnected with her siblings later and my husband taught both of them later on while Christa spent some time in Resource Room. Mr and Mrs Bevilacqua were two of the nicest supportive parents a teacher could ever ask to meet. The kids work was neat and completed and they had 4!!! I often thought later of 4 proms and 4 learning to drive and 4 in college. I am friends with Bernadette on FB even though I never personally taught her and all 4 success stories must make their parents very proud.

Both of us Rich my husband and I are heartbroken but know she is in heaven with her beloved Daddy! I never met her husband Rich but am sure Christa married an angel for sure.

My prayers go out to Rob, John , Bernadette, Mrs Bevilacqua and her beloved husband as well as her cousin and other friends and relatives! Heaven gained an angel and we can always call on Christa as our angel friend for prayers and special requests as a conduit to Our Heavenly Father!

Rich and the entire Bevilacqua family, please accept our deepest condolences on the sudden death of Christa. I first met her a few years ago at the oral surgeon’s office. She recognized me as a parishioner of St. Madeline’s Church. We became very friendly since then. Christa graciously came to my home almost every week to offer me the Holy Eucharist as I am not able to make mass anymore. She was the kindest most sweetest person I’ve ever met. She will forever be in my heart and will be greatly missed. Heaven has gained another angel. Thoughts and prayers to the entire family. May she rest in peace.

Christa, it was hard to believe that my last communication to you about your car being hit by an Amazon truck would be my last to you. I am in shock. It’s a reminder that you never know when the Lord will call us home to that heavenly feast. I enjoyed working with you at the Wildwood Youth Track. You will be missed. My prayers and deepest condolences to the Bevilacqua and Teel families.

To Rich, Joan, Rich Sr and the entire family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the pain you are enduring. Christa seemed like such a nice person and it was so obvious how much in love Rich and Christa were. I wish there was something I could say or do to make you feel better but I know that is impossible. I am sure that both Nancy & Frannie met her at the gate. I hope that is some consolation. If there is anything I can do, just ask. I will keep you all in prayer.

Christa was such a beautiful person inside and out. I always remember the couple of outings her and I had. One of the first that comes to mind was visiting St. Rita’s Shrine one summer and attending Catholic Underground.

Just before she died, she was offering her prayers every time I made a post about my girlfriend and I celebrating a dating milestone.

Her last one came just days before I received the shocking news as my girlfriend pointed out.

To her family and husband Rich, I offer my prayers during this time of bereavement.

Dear Rich, Mrs. Bev, Bern, John,Rob and Gram,
Our daughter Ashley was good friends with Christa in high school and although their lives went in different directions they did keep in touch.
And let me tell you,Christa light up a room. She radiated so much love and joy, and it truly came from God Our Father.
Rich, my husband and I were thrilled that you and Christa came to Ashley’s 30th birthday party.
When I think of Christa, she always put a smile on my face.

Dear Rich, Bernadette, Robert, John, Bernadette, Aunt Cass (Gram) and Gabriella, I was so deeply saddened when I learned only yesterday about Christa. Unfortunately I never met Rich and the most time I spent with Christa and her siblings was in the months after they were born. Bernadette and Bob were run off their feet, overwhelmed and exhausted. My friends and I would travel from South Jersey to Prospect Park. We would do whatever needed doing for a couple of hours. It wasn’t much but their birth was such a joy and a blessing for Bernadette and Bob and their entire family that helping even a little was a privilege. When I did again meet Christa and her siblings ten years ago, briefly, and related that story to her when I introduced myself, her face lit up with a huge smile and she gave me a hug like we’d been friends forever. I am truly sorry for your devastating loss and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
