Obituary

Barbara Ann Bruno of Morton (formerly of Springfield), Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home on June 24, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Ann Farrell (Dougherty).

Barbara was raised in Essington, Pennsylvania and attended St. Margret Mary’s Catholic School then later graduated from Interboro High school class of 1974. She then ventured off to Delaware County Community College and St. Charles Seminary. She taught third and fourth grade at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic School in Essington then taught seventh and eighth grade at St. Eugene’s Catholic School in Primos. She also worked at Clover department store in Morton, Pennsylvania where she met the love of her life, Daniel. After her teaching and retail days she did at home child care for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel. Her enduring daughter, Alicia Ann (Fred Ogden). Her loved and adored grandchildren Alexander James, Frederick Daniel, and Dominic Lawrence. Also survived by her brother, James (Sharon Masters) Farrell. Her nephew, Christopher (Jennie) and Kellie Farrell. Also survived by her lovely sister Peggy Farrell, and her many relatives and many enduring friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to Barbara’s Celebration of Life on Wednesday, July, 6 2022 at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa with a Visitation from 9:30-11:30 am, followed by her Memorial Mass at 12 noon at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 1 Fatima Drive, in Secane, Pennsylvania. All are welcome!

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara’s name to either Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia, Pa 19104 OR Crozer Hospice, 501 N Landsdowne Ave,  Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Section 2 East, Drexel Hill, Pa 19026.
